Children on bench looking at carer

Welcome to Layton Hill Nursery

Mrs Terri Bridge is a qualified teacher who was the head of an infant department in a Blackpool school for many years before opening Layton Hill Nursery in 1991.

Since then, the nursery has grown and developed very successfully, providing a happy and stimulating environment for many children. In January 2013 we moved to new premises in Thornton Cleveleys which has better facilities and has enabled us to offer places to children under the age of 2.

Equal Opportunities

At Layton Hill Nursery all children are treated equally. Our fundamental aim is to build each child’s confidence by showing him/her that he/she is valued, respected and expected to succeed. Positive self-esteem is critical for the development of effective learning skills.

Children learn through play. They are active learners, who learn best from activities that they plan and carry out themselves. We provide an environment that promotes active learning and encourages each child to think about his/her actions. Play underpins all we do in the nursery because it is essential for all aspects of the child’s development – physical, social, emotional, creative, intellectual, moral and spiritual. The atmosphere in the nursery is relaxed and fun filled.
